Real Madrid and Borussia Dortmund are reportedly working together to finalise the loan deal for 21-year-old Spanish midfielder Sergio Arribas.

According to a report by Spanish outlet Mundo Deportivo, Sergio Arribas will likely join Borussia Dortmund in the summer transfer window. The Bundesliga giants are working closely with Real Madrid to finalise the deal for the 21-year-old. And the young midfield prospect will represent the Black and Yellows on loan for the next two seasons.

Sergio Arribas joined Real Madrid from CD Leganes over a decade ago in July 2012. Since then, the Spanish midfielder has come leaps and bounds, establishing himself as one of the best young prospects in his homeland. And he has been an extraordinary performer for Real Madrid Castilla for a long time.

The 21-year-old was excellent for Real Madrid Castilla this past season, amassing 21 goals and seven assists in 40 appearances. But Arribas might feel he has reached the end of the line at Real Madrid Castilla and is ready for first-team action. And Bundesliga giants Borussia Dortmund will likely present him with an opportunity in top-flight football.

Bundesliga clubs have been closely monitoring Arribas’s progress for a long time, with Borussia Dortmund being one of his suitors. And after losing Jude Bellingham to Real Madrid, the Black and Yellows have been in the market for a midfield reinforcement heading into the summer transfer window.

In addition, the Bundesliga giants have lost Mahmoud Dahoud, who has joined Brighton & Hove Albion. So it behoves Borussia Dortmund to invest in a young midfielder. And their close relations with Real Madrid are helping them close in on securing Sergio Arribas’s services this summer.

Dortmund and Real Madrid have been in contact over a possible deal for Arribas for a few days. And the Bundesliga giants are now closing in on securing the youngster’s services this summer. The two clubs are working together to finalise the agreement, with the 21-year-old likely to sign a two-year temporary contract.
