Manchester United are willing to do everything in their power to secure the services of 20-year-old Atalanta striker Rasmus Hojlund.
According to Corriere di Bergamo via Sport Witness, Manchester United are keen on having Rasmus Hojlund in their ranks ahead of next season. The Red Devils are in desperate need of a new striker, and they are willing to go all out to secure the services of the Denmark international.
Even before the 2022/23 season ended, it was pretty clear that Manchester United would push for a new striker in the summer. Wout Weghorst has returned to his parent club after a disappointing loan spell, and Anthony Martial is expected to be offloaded before the end of the season.
As a result, Erik ten Hag is keen on having a new striker in his ranks. He wants someone who can share the goal-scoring load with Marcus Rashford. While his priority was to push for the likes of Harry Kane and Victor Osimhen. Budget constraints and Spurs’ unwillingness to sell their star to a rival have forced Manchester United to shift their focus towards Rasmus Hojlund.
The 20-year-old joined Atalanta last summer from Sturm Graz. The Denmark international featured in a total of 34 matches for the Serie A club in his very first season and managed to contribute towards 14 goals. He found the back of the net on ten occasions.
While the sample size is quite small, Manchester United still believe he has it all to succeed at the highest level. The Red Devils are willing to go all out to secure his services, and even Erik ten Hag is a big fan of the player.
The Dutch manager believes Hojlund could do wonders for his team and wants to board to strike a deal with Atalanta as soon as possible. According to the report, Manchester United have put forward a €46 million offer for the 20-year-old.
The initial offer is likely to be rejected by the Italian club, who value him at €60 million. The Red Devils will have to improve their offer as they look to land him at the club or else Juventus might manage to hijack the deal.
Dušan Vlahovic could part ways with the Old Lady and his departure may allow them to make a bid good enough to secure the 20-year-old’s signatures. With United desperate to have him in their ranks, they will most likely place a new bid in the near future.
