Serie A giants AC Milan are closing in on securing the signature of 24-year-old Chelsea left-winger Christian Pulisic.

According to Rudy Galetti, AC Milan are keen on having Christian Pulisic in their ranks ahead of next season. The 24-year-old American international has not had the best of times at Chelsea, and he is ready to make the switch to Italy. And the Serie A giants are close to landing the player.

Pulisic came through the ranks at Borussia Dortmund. He was promoted to their first team back in the winter of 2016. In the next three years, he made quite a name for himself and was amongst the best young forwards in world football.

This is when Chelsea came calling him and acquired his services in a big money €64 million move. In the initial seasons, the 24-year-old had a decent impact on the team. But slowly, injuries started causing trouble. Eventually, he went down the pecking order at Chelsea.

Over the past two transfer windows, the Blues have signed several new forwards and the American international now finds himself further down the pecking order. In the recently-concluded season, Pulisic was involved in 30 matches but was on the pitch for just over 1,000 minutes.

He is not a part of Mauricio Pochettino’s plan. And with just a year left on his deal, the Blues are ready to sell him. AC Milan are well aware of the situation and have been pushing for the signatures of the 24-year-old of late.

Milan have already agreed a deal in principle with the player. The American international is keen on joining the Serie A giants, and he is ready to take a huge pay cut to ensure the move takes place.

While talks have been progressing well, there is still some difference between both parties. Both clubs are working to find a solution that can help them reach an agreement. There is a significant difference between both teams’ valuation of the player, and the transfer fee seems to be the major hurdle.

With the player ready to join AC Milan, the club are now looking to offload a player before making the next offer. The Serie A giants are expected to propose a better offer, and there is a high possibility that the Blues will reach an agreement this time around.
