Chelsea in the final stages of talks to sign Moises Caicedo

Chelsea are now closing in on the capture of the Brighton and Hove Albion midfielder Moises Caicedo.

The 21-year-old is the target for the Blues this summer and Rudy Galetti claims that Chelsea have now agreed to a fixed fee with Brighton worth around £75 million. The two clubs are now currently working on the add-ons.

Caicedo has been linked with Chelsea for weeks and the Blues will be determined to get the deal done before the window closes. The 21-year-old has been a key player for Brighton and he would be a superb long-term investment for Chelsea as well.

Chelsea have lost key midfielders like N’Golo Kanté and Mateo Kovačić this summer. Both players have been instrumental in their trophy wins in recent seasons and they will have to be replaced properly.

The 21-year-old Brighton midfielder has proven his quality in the Premier League and he could prove to be a solid acquisition for the Blues. In theory, he could form a quality partnership with Enzo Fernandez. Both players are quite young and they could sort out the Chelsea midfield for the foreseeable future.

The Brighton midfielder will be hoping to test himself at a higher level and the opportunity to join a big club like Chelsea can be hard to turn down. He was keen on a move to Arsenal during the January transfer window, but Brighton managed to hold on to him back then.

It seems that the Seagulls are now resigned to losing the player this summer. Although Chelsea are not in the Champions League, they are one of the biggest clubs in the world and they have a talented squad at their disposal. There is no doubt that they can compete for trophies next season, especially with a top-class manager like Mauricio Pochettino in charge.

A move to Chelsea would be a step up in the midfielder’s career, and it could help him develop further.

Playing alongside top-class players at Stamford Bridge could accelerate his development and help him fulfil his potential.

Caicedo could be the ideal long-term replacement for club legend N’Golo Kanté. He is excellent at winning the ball back for his side and breaking up the opposition’s play. He is also well suited to Pochettino’s high-intensity pressing football.

The Brighton midfielder is exceptional when it comes to holding on to the ball, and he will add technical ability in the middle of the park as well.

Meanwhile, the midfielder has been linked with a move to Manchester United as well. The Red Devils need to bring in central midfield reinforcements. The 21-year-old would be an upgrade on players like Fred and Scott McTominay.

Furthermore, the Red Devils can offer him Champions League football next season and it remains to be seen how the situation unfolds.
