Manchester United are reportedly keen on signing Moises Caicedo, a target for Arsenal and Chelsea, before the transfer window closes.

According to a report from The Times, Manchester United have now switched attention towards Moises Caicdo after failing with three bids for Mason Mount. The 21-year-old is valued at around £80 million by Brighton & Hove Albion. And he is also a target for Arsenal and Chelsea.

Caicedo has been linked with a move away from Brighton and Hove Albion for months. He has been heavily linked with Chelsea, who are looking to bring in a quality replacement for club legend N’Golo Kante.

Meanwhile, the midfielder was a key target for Arsenal during the January transfer window. The Gunners failed to sign him back then, and he ended up signing a new contract with Brighton. It appears that the midfielder could be on the move finally this summer, with Chelsea and Arsenal keen on signing him.

It will be interesting to see if Manchester United can beat the competition from their Premier League rivals and sign Caicedo. He will want to join a big club this summer. And the opportunity to play for Manchester United will be an attractive proposition. The Red Devils will be competing in the Champions League next year and they have the squad to push for major trophies as well.

They have already won the English League Cup last season, and Erik ten Hag has improved the squad immensely. Working under the Dutchman could help the 21-year-old improve as a player and fulfil his potential.

Apparently, Manchester United were working on signing Mason Mount from Chelsea. But the Blues have been difficult to negotiate with and have rejected three offers for the 24-year-old England international.

Although Caicedo and Mount are entirely different players, it seems that the Red Devils have now identified the Brighton star as an alternative. Caicedo is a defensive midfielder, and he will add physicality, control and defensive discipline to the side. On the other hand, Mason Mount is an attacking midfielder who would have added creativity and goals to the side.
