Franck Kessie has a double-your-money deal on his table from Al Ahli, with Chelsea also keen on signing him from Barcelona.

According to Pol Ballus of The Athletic, Franck Kessie is the subject of interest from Al Ahli. And the Saudi Arabian giants have offered him a dizzying contract that will double his wages. Meanwhile, a separate report has claimed that Chelsea will look to sign the Ivorian midfielder. And Barcelona will demand €30 million to part ways with him.

Franck Kessie has hit a brick wall after joining Barcelona in a Bosman move last summer. The 26-year-old was on top of the world during his stint with AC Milan, for whom he was a pivotal figure. And he would not have foreseen becoming a bit-part player after leaving the Rossoneri as a free agent to move to Barcelona.

The Ivory Coast international could not even manage 2,000 minutes of game time. And he turned out 43 times across all competitions while chipping in with three goals and three assists. Meanwhile, Kessie’s Barcelona future is uncertain with Al Ahli and Chelsea keen on signing him.

Interest from Saudi Arabia emerged last week, with Kessie’s Barcelona future becoming increasingly uncertain. And signing a player at his peak will be a coup for the Saudi Pro League as they look to break Europe’s hegemony on club football. Meanwhile, Barcelona will demand €30 million to part ways with him.

As for the offer on the table for the Ivorian midfielder, Al Ahli will happily double his wages. And recent reports have suggested that Kessie is open to leaving Barcelona in the summer transfer window. Meanwhile, Al Ahli should not have a problem shelling out €30 million to secure his services. But they will reportedly face stiff competition from Chelsea for the player.

Mauricio Pochettino is a fan of Kessie’s quality. And the new Chelsea manager is keen on having the Barcelona midfielder in his squad in the 2023/24 season. Meanwhile, Chelsea should not have an issue matching Barcelona’s asking price, considering the West London club’s free-spending ways.
