Real Madrid will soon confirm the agreement over a new contract with 22-year-old Brazilian attacker Vinicius Junior.

According to a report by Spanish outlet MARCA, Real Madrid will announce the agreement over a new deal with Vinicius Junior in the next few days. The Merengues consider the 22-year-old attacker as their franchise player. And they want to make it known that the youngster is not going anywhere anytime soon.

Vinicius Junior has gone from strength to strength since joining Real Madrid from Flamengo nearly half a decade ago. The Brazilian international encountered some teething problems but has now become a talismanic figure. And he will become the leader of the Real Madrid attack following the departure of Karim Benzema.

Meanwhile, the 22-year-old enjoyed an excellent 2022/23 campaign, contributing to 44 goals in 55 matches. The player found the back of the net 23 times while providing 21 assists. And while racist abuse has frustrated him, he is not leaving Real Madrid anytime soon.

Reports in the wake of the incidents of racism linked the Real Madrid attacker with Premier League clubs. In addition, there have been murmurs that Paris Saint-Germain might look to exact revenge on Real Madrid for pursuing Kylian Mbappe by securing Vinicius’s services. But the youngster is committed to Real Madrid.

But reports of an agreement with Real Madrid over a new contract have been circulating since last year. And the Merengues are now ready to officiate the renewal, with an announcement in the next few days. The Spanish giants view the 22-year-old attacker as their franchise player and will not entertain any offers for him.

Vinicius will be Real Madrid’s talisman and offensive leader for the coming decade. So it is hardly surprising that the Spanish giants are eager to officially announce the new contract. Meanwhile, it is unclear if Real Madrid will make any more signings in the summer transfer window.
