Real Madrid might soon present a bid worth €20 million to River Plate to sign 17-year-old Argentine whizkid Claudio Echeverri.

According to a report by Spanish outlet Fichajes, Claudio Echeverri is the subject of interest from Real Madrid. The 17-year-old River Plate whizkid is one of the brightest young prospects in his homeland. And the Merengues are ready to offer €20 million to secure his services in the summer transfer window.

Claudio Echeverri has spent his formative years thus far in his homeland. He started at Deportivo Lujan before moving to River Plate in 2017. And joining one of the biggest clubs in Argentina has been an inspiring decision as he has come leaps and bounds in the last six years. In addition, the teenage wonderkid has also featured five times for the Argentine under-17 team, scoring thrice.

The 17-year-old is now on the cusp of becoming a regular for the first team after making his senior bow. Echeverri appeared off the bench against Instituto Atletico Central Cordoba earlier this week, providing an assist on debut. And Real Madrid had scouts present at the game to monitor several players, including Echeverri.

The Argentine whizkid has been on Real Madrid’s radar for a few months now. And it is hardly surprising that the Merengues have set their sights on the teenage sensation. After all, they are renowned for constantly scouring the market for prodigious prospects, with Florentino Perez driving a youth-centric outlook.

Such an approach has helped Real Madrid facilitate smooth transitions from one generation to the next. And players like Vinicius Junior, Rodrygo Goes, and Jude Bellingham are ready to lead Real Madrid into the next generation. Another promising prospect, Endrick, will join Los Blancos to be a long-term solution. And Echeverri might soon arrive at the Bernabeu.

The report claims that the Merengues are preparing an offer to sign the 17-year-old Argentine whizkid. Real Madrid will present a bid worth €20 million to River Plate, hoping to strike gold with the proposal. But instead of integrating Echeverri into the first-team picture, they will either place him in the Castilla team or loan him out elsewhere.

Meanwhile, Echeverri might not be the only youth prospect to join Real Madrid, with Los Blancos also interested in Arda Guler. But it will be interesting to see if a bid worth €20 million does the trick for Real Madrid to sign the Argentine wonderkid.
