Ligue 1 club Lyon are reportedly interested in acquiring the services of 24-year-old Chelsea attacker Christian Pulisic.

According to L’Equipe, Olympique Lyonnais are keen on having Christian Pulisic in their ranks ahead of next season. The 24-year-old’s future at Chelsea is uncertain, and he is expected to be on the move in the summer. And talks between the two clubs are already underway.

Meanwhile, Lyon have made him their number-one priority for the ongoing summer. American businessman John Textor is desperate to have his compatriot at his club. Textor controls the Eagle Football Group, which is the primary owner of the OL Groupe. And, he, along with his associates, dream of having Pulisic lead their team in the French league.

Meanwhile, the American international has not had the best of times at Chelsea of late. The Blues had spent €64 million to acquire him from Borussia Dortmund back in the day. While he did showcase his exceptional abilities on occasions, he lacked consistency. Even injuries did not help his cause and the 24-year-old failed to establish himself as a regular starter.

Of late, his game time has taken a hit, the American international could only manage just over 1,000 minutes last season despite making a total of 30 appearances. He hardly had the minutes to make a significant impact. And, the player is likely to be offloaded by Chelsea if and when the right bid arrives.

Chelsea have already offloaded quite a few players, and a few more are to follow in the near future. With Pulisic’s contract expiring in 2024, he is expected to be offloaded this summer itself. Chelsea might let him leave for a fee as low as €20 million, which could end up being a bargain for the Ligue 1 club.

Lyon, who finished seventh last season, are looking to take the next step by signing Christian Pulisic. They are eager to strengthen their attack, and their American ownership is keen on having the 24-year-old in their ranks. However, the player has not shown any eagerness to join the Ligue 1 club.

While Lyon are keen on having him, there are quite a few clubs who might make their life difficult. The likes of Napoli, Juventus, and AC Milan have all expressed their interest in the 24-year-old. However, the player is still keen on reigniting his career in the Premier League, and Crystal Palace could be an option as the Eagle Football Group hold 45% of their shares.
