Liverpool have made a lucrative €5 million-a-year contract proposal to Gabri Veiga ahead of a possible move.

According to Corriere Del Mezzogiorno via Paisley Gates, Liverpool have made a lucrative contract proposal to lure Gabri Veiga. The Merseysiders are willing to beat the competition for the 21-year-old Chelsea target with a €5 million-a-year contract for the Spanish sensation.

The Gabri Veiga pursuit will likely pick up momentum in the coming weeks. More clubs are coming in to show an interest in the Spanish sensation, with heavy admiration from the Premier League. At the back of a sensational season with Celta Vigo, it was always expected of the 21-year-old to leave for a more significant challenge.

Real Madrid and Barcelona showed massive interest early on. But there are reports suggesting the Spanish giants are unwilling to pay the required fee. Veiga reportedly has a €40 million release clause, and Celta Vigo are not prepared to lower that price.

Hence, the onus fell to Premier League sides, who have the budget to carry out the operation for Veiga. Liverpool and Chelsea are reportedly interested, but Newcastle United could also enter the race.

With the €40 million needed to take the 21-year-old Chelsea target, the focus is on which club makes the best contract proposal. Liverpool are ramping up their efforts to sign the player they consider a solid alternative to former target Mason Mount.

The London side could consider Veiga as Mount’s replacement, as he might join Manchester United. The 21-year-old Chelsea target. Paisley Gates reports that Liverpool has made a lucrative €5 million-a-year contract proposal. The same in England will come down to around £83,000 a week in wages.

It is a substantial sum for the player earning under €3,000-a-week wages at Celta Vigo. The contract proposal will likely attract him to Liverpool. Chelsea might also make a similar proposal, possibly even better.

Liverpool clearly need to add quality players to their side to replace those who have already departed. Naby Keita, Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain and James Milner have all left the club, leaving a massive void in the squad. The Reds have already signed Alexis Mac Allister but need more quality, and Veiga could plug that gap.
