Bayern Munich are looking to hijack Arsenal’s move for Kai Havertz, with Thomas Tuchel keen on a reunion with the German international.

According to Football Insider, Bayern Munich are looking to battle Arsenal for Kai Havertz. The Bundesliga champions plan to hijack a move for the £70 million-rated Chelsea star, but the Gunners seem the favourites in the chase.

The Kai Havertz situation could add another layer of complication for Arsenal as Bayern Munich plan on stealing a march on the Gunners. The Bavarians have registered an interest in the £70 million-rated Chelsea star, as Thomas Tuchel seems eager to reunite with the 24-year-old.

The current Bayern boss enjoyed a successful period with Chelsea, winning the UEFA Champions League. Incidentally, Havertz scored the only goal in that final against Manchester City, thus holding a special place in Tuchel’s heart.

While it has become common knowledge that Chelsea consider Havertz expendable, Bayern wants to take advantage of the situation and bring him back to Germany. The 24-year-old enjoyed a successful period with Bayer Leverkusen before joining the Blues in a huge deal.

While Bayern look to hijack a move for the £70 million-rated Chelsea star, it is Arsenal who are in the driving seat for Havertz. The Gunners are well ahead in the race and have already seen a bid rejected by the Blues for the 24-year-old attacker.

The Gunners are chasing the German and Declan Rice as things stand. Similarly, West Ham had turned down their first proposal for the midfielder, with Arsenal set to make a massive second bid imminently. They hope to seal these two players’ transfers and then look at other options for various positions.

As for Havertz, they are close to agreeing on personal terms with the German international. While returning to Germany will surely turn the attacker’s head, he may have already chosen to sign for the Gunners and stay in the Premier League.

Suppose Arsenal seal a move, which has been stuck due to Chelsea’s £70 million asking price. Multiple sources suggest a £60 million offer could suffice, and the Gunners might end up signing Havertz. If that happens, it will be a second blow in the same window for Bayern, who had also briefly chased Rice earlier.
