Arsenal agree personal terms with Kai Havertz

Arsenal have reportedly agreed on personal terms with Kai Havertz as talks continue with Chelsea over a fee for the German international.

According to Football Transfers, Arsenal have already agreed on personal terms with Kai Havertz as they look to finalise a move. The £70 million-rated Chelsea star has reportedly spoken to former teammate and current Gunners midfielder Jorginho and is keen to join Mikel Arteta’s squad.

One word to describe Arsenal in the current transfer window would be aggressive. The Gunners are serious about their intentions for next season and willing to go big in the market to acquire their preferred targets. They are unwilling to play the waiting game and want to get their targets early.

Having seen a bid for Declan Rice rejected by West Ham, the Gunners are set to accelerate the pursuit with another stellar offer. Meanwhile, they are not waiting for the Rice deal to get over the line to strengthen other areas, as Arsenal has already identified their next target.

The Gunners were in talks with Chelsea for Kai Havertz in the last few days. The move has surprised many, considering the German was not on their radar and seems like a mismatch positionally. However, Mikel Arteta has made some questionable decisions during his tenure, which have benefitted the team significantly.

As things stand, Chelsea have already rejected Arsenal’s first bid for Havertz. The offer was reportedly lower than the Blues’ valuation of £70 million. The Gunners will not pay that kind of money for the player who has had a terrible season at Stamford Bridge.

However, there is a feeling the clubs could negotiate, and Chelsea could get flexible with their asking price. Some sources suggest a bid for £50 million plus £10 million in add-ons should suffice, and Havertz can then move clubs.

The report insists Arsenal have agreed on personal terms with Havertz. They said the German international has been conversing with former teammate and current Gunners midfielder Jorginho and wants to complete the move to Arteta’s squad.

The Gunners might also feel Chelsea are desperate to sell players quickly to meet their financial requirements. The Blues want to bid for Moises Caicedo but may have to bring in funds through Havertz and Mason Mount.

Arsenal’s aggressive nature in this window might bring in another quick-fire bid for the German star. With the player giving his green light for the move, it may seem like a matter of days before Havertz dones the Red and White of north London.
