La Liga heavyweights Real Madrid will soon tie 26-year-old Spanish international Dani Ceballos to a new three-year contract.
According to a report by Spanish outlet AS, Dani Ceballos is not going anywhere in the summer transfer window. The Spanish international is ready to commit his medium-term future to Los Blancos. And Real Madrid will tie him to a new three-year contract in the coming days.
Dani Ceballos has not fulfilled the promise and potential he showed during his days with Real Betis. The 26-year-old was once one of the best young midfielders in the world. And it was hardly surprising when Real Madrid decided to prise him away from Real Betis in July 2017, when he was just 20 years old.
But with Luka Modric and Toni Kroos going strong season after season, the Spanish international has had to bide his time. So a two-year loan stint with Arsenal could have been beneficial for Ceballos’s progress. But he blew hot and cold during his spell at the Emirates before returning to Real Madrid in 2021.
A long-term ankle injury bothered the Spaniard in the 2021/22 season, as he barely featured for Real Madrid. But Ceballos’s fortunes improved this past season, although he did not secure regular starts. Nonetheless, he managed nearly 50 appearances while chipping in with one goal and nine assists.
But the 26-year-old Spanish international has entered the final days of his Real Madrid contract. And his uncertain situation has captured the attention of several clubs, including Aston Villa and Real Betis. Reports even suggested that Ceballos was ready to leave Real Madrid as a free agent. But Los Blancos recently offered him a new three-year contract.
The deal included improved wages and assurance of game time. And Ceballos has decided to commit his future to Real Madrid instead of leaving as a free agent. But while he will soon sign a new three-year contract with Real Madrid, the decision is somewhat perplexing.

The Merengues have signed Jude Bellingham from Borussia Dortmund. In addition, Luka Modric and Toni Kroos will represent Real Madrid for another season. So it is hard to see how Ceballos will secure regular game time next season. Nevertheless, he will soon sign a new three-year contract.
