Axel Disasi is reportedly keen on joining Manchester United, with the Red Devils knowing the 25-year-old defender’s stance.

According to a report by Daily Mirror, Axel Disasi wants to join Manchester United in the summer transfer window. The 25-year-old French international has thus handed a boost to the Premier League club. And the Red Devils know the AS Monaco defender’s stance.

Axel Disasi has taken some time to come into the spotlight. He spent his formative years with unheralded clubs before graduating from the Paris FC academy. And he spent the initial years of his professional career with Stade Reims before joining AS Monaco in August 2020.

Since then, the 25-year-old has come leaps and bounds, establishing himself as one of the best defenders in Ligue 1. Disasi, who has turned out 129 times thus far for AS Monaco, has also made three appearances for the French national side. And the player’s progress has captured the attention of several top clubs, including Manchester United.

Manchester United will head into the summer transfer window aiming to sign a new centre-back. The Red Devils have signed a central defender in the last two summers. But with Harry Maguire likely to leave despite contradictory reports, a spot in the defensive unit will open up.

In addition, Phil Jones is ending his turbulent spell with Manchester United by leaving as a free agent. In addition, Raphael Varane’s fitness issues mean the Red Devils need a centre-back to be his alternative. So Manchester United will scour the market for a right-footed centre-back, with Disasi emerging as a top target.

Recent reports have claimed that the 25-year-old French international is closing in on joining Manchester United. And the Red Devils know the AS Monaco defender is keen on moving to Old Trafford in the summer transfer window. So the latest update has come as a shot in the arm for the Premier League club.

Apart from Disasi, Kim Min-jae is also a top target for the same position. And it will be interesting to see which of the two defenders arrives at Old Trafford to bolster Erik ten Hag’s central defensive options. For now, a summer move for the 25-year-old French international looks likely.
