Chelsea, Manchester United tracking Axel Disasi

Axel Disasi has been linked with a summer move away from AS Monaco, with Chelsea and Manchester United keeping tabs on him.

A report from 90min claims that Chelsea and Manchester United are tracking 25-year-old French international Axel Disasi. And they could look to make a move for him during the summer transfer window.

The 25-year-old has established himself as one of the best defenders in Ligue 1, and he is a part of the French national team as well. Disasi has a big future ahead of him and he could prove to be a superb long-term acquisition for the two Premier League clubs. He is on the radar of Manchester City as well.

Chelsea need to find a quality long-term replacement for Thiago Silva, and the Frenchman would be a superb acquisition. Apart from his defensive qualities, Disasi has impressed with his leadership skills at the French club as well. He could be the ideal candidate to replace Silva at Stamford Bridge.

For similar reasons, he will be a quality acquisition for Manchester United as well. The Red Devils could lose Victor Lindelof, and Harry Maguire during the summer transfer window. The two players have dropped down the pecking order at Old Trafford. And they are no longer guaranteed starters for the Premier League club.

The two players need to play regularly at this stage of their careers and that is simply not possible at Manchester United. Erik ten Hag will need to bring in quality replacements when Lindelof and Maguire move on. Disasi would thus be a superb acquisition.

The 25-year-old is entering his peak years, and he could play his best football for the Premier League clubs if they manage to secure his services. Chelsea and Manchester United certainly have the financial muscle to pull off the transfer and tempt Monaco into selling their key player.

Disasi is likely to be the mainstay of the French national team’s defence for the years to come and moving to the Premier League would be ideal for him. It would be an exciting new challenge for him at this stage of his career. And he will feel that regular football in England will improve his chances of starting for France regularly.
