Chelsea will not block discussions with Real Madrid for 23-year-old German international Kai Havertz over a possible summer move.

According to reputed Italian journalist Fabrizio Romano, Kai Havertz is the subject of interest from Real Madrid. Carlo Ancelotti is an admirer of the Chelsea attacker. And the Blues are ready to hold talks over a possible summer move for the 23-year-old, whose market value is €60 million.

Kai Havertz has been an underwhelming signing for Chelsea, who spent big money to secure his services. The German international has been with the West London club since September 2020. But he has not done anything to justify the hype surrounding him or the €80 million Chelsea spent to land him.

Meanwhile, Havertz’s market value has also dropped, and it currently stands at €60 million. And the 23-year-old has been dreadful in the 2022/23 season, managing only nine goals and one assist in 47 appearances. But the player’s stock remains high, with Real Madrid among his prospective suitors over a possible move in the summer transfer window.

Havertz has been on Real Madrid’s radar for a long time. Los Blancos also attempted to secure his services in 2020 before he joined Chelsea. But despite failing to sign the 23-year-old three years ago, they have remained interested in him. And the Chelsea attacker is a top target for Real Madrid heading into the summer transfer window.

While Havertz has struggled to make his mark at Chelsea, it is worth noting that he has played out of position. And with Marco Asensio on the verge of leaving, the German international might get to play in one of his preferred spots. Meanwhile, Chelsea will not block a summer departure. And they have reportedly slapped a price tag of €60 million on him.

Fabrizio Romano has provided more information on the story, suggesting the Blues are open to talks over a summer deal. But Chelsea will not entertain offers for a loan deal. So Real Madrid will have to secure Havertz’s services on a permanent deal.

It will be interesting to see if the Merengues are open to shelling out €60 million to sign the 23-year-old. For now, the Chelsea attacker is seemingly a top summer target for Real Madrid, with Carlo Ancelotti being a keen admirer.
