Real Madrid will be open to shelling out €15 million to sign Alvaro Odriozola from Real Madrid in the summer transfer window.
According to a report by Spanish outlet Fichajes, Alvaro Odriozola is the subject of interest from Real Sociedad. La Real will be open to coughing up €15 million to sign the Real Madrid defender in the summer transfer window. And the outgoing La Liga champions will likely accept an offer in the region of the aforementioned sum.
Alvaro Odriozola joined Real Madrid from Real Sociedad in July 2018, hoping to be Dani Carvajal’s successor. The Spanish full-back came to the Santiago Bernabeu amid much fanfare after making exponential progress at the Basque club. But his growth has halted in the last half a decade, as he has barely made his mark for Real Madrid.
The 27-year-old has even spent a season and a half away from Real Madrid. But the loan spells with Bayern Munich and Fiorentina were not successful either. Meanwhile, the Spaniard has managed only 93 minutes of game time across six appearances this season. And Odriozola’s long-term Real Madrid future is uncertain.
Odriozola’s contract with Real Madrid will expire next year. So it behoves Los Blancos to cash in on the struggling defender in the summer transfer window. And the player is reportedly ready to leave Real Madrid ahead of the 2023/24 season. His next destination might be Real Sociedad.
The Basque giants are keen on re-signing the 27-year-old despite his struggles at Real Madrid. Imanol Alguacil already has two right-backs at his disposal, those being Andoni Gorosabel and Alex Sola. So it is unclear how Odriozola will fit in the scheme of things at the Reale Arena.
Nonetheless, Real Sociedad will soon approach the outgoing Real Madrid champions over a summer move. And they are willing to cough up €15 million to secure Odriozola’s services. Meanwhile, Los Blancos will unlikely block a deal if a suitor shells out €15 million to sign him.
