Lautaro Martinez has been linked with a summer move away from Inter Milan, with Chelsea interested in the World Cup winner.

Lautaro Martinez has been in scintillating form this season, and the likes of Chelsea and Manchester United are keen on him. However, Inter Milan vice president Javier Zanetti has revealed (h/t Fichajes) that the World Cup winner is not for sale at any price.

“Lautaro is a key player and he will stay with us. Right now, it’s time to enjoy him as a player. Lautaro is extremely happy here, this club is his home and I hope it will continue to be so for many years,” Javier Zanetti said.

Martinez has 25 goals and ten assists to his name across all competitions, and he has been a key player for Inter Milan this season. Inter Milan have had a disappointing league campaign so far. But they have made it to the finals of the UEFA Champions League.

It will be interesting to see if Martinez can help his side win the Champions League this year. The Argentine recently won the World Cup which is country, and he will be desperate to secure a major trophy with his club as well. He is undoubtedly one of the best forwards in Europe right now. So it is no surprise that Chelsea and Manchester United are keen on signing the player.

Chelsea have struggled to find the back of the net consistently and someone like Martínez could solve their goalscoring problems. He would add creativity and flair in the final third as well. As for Manchester United, they have an overly reliant on Marcus Rashford for goals, and the England international needs more help and support next season.

Martinez could form a quality partnership with the England international at Old Trafford. The 25-year-old certainly deserves to play at the highest level. But it remains to be seen whether the player is ready to continue at Inter Milan beyond this season.

The Argentine international is clearly well-settled at San Siro. So there is no reason why he would force a move away from the club as long as they match up to his ambitions. Inter Milan have a talented squad and could look to challenge for the league title once again with a couple of quality additions.

Martinez is clearly the centrepiece of their project. But it remains to be seen whether Inter Milan can fend off the competition from european heavyweights and keep him at the club for the long term.
