Liverpool have been linked with a summer move for Real Madrid midfielder Aurelien Tchouameni, whose market value is €90 million.

Aurelien Tchouameni was linked with Liverpool before he joined Real Madrid, and it seems that the Reds have not given up on him yet. A report from Defensa Central claims that Jurgen Klopp is keen on signing the French international midfielder this summer.

However, Real Madrid have decided that the midfielder is not for sale at any price, and they want to hold on to him for the long term. Tchouameni has had a difficult season with Real Madrid so far, and he has not been a regular starter for them in the last few months.

Players like Toni Kroos, Luka Modric and Eduardo Camavinga have been preferred ahead of the French international midfielder. However, there is no doubt that the 23-year-old is a world-class talent with a big future ahead of him. Real Madrid expect him to explode soon, and they are not ready to let him leave amid interest from Liverpool.

Liverpool are in desperate need of midfield reinforcements, and they were hoping to sign the French defensive midfielder this summer. He would have been a top-class signing for them. Players like Jordan Henderson and Fabinho have regressed significantly. The 23-year-old would have been an upgrade on the two players.

Klopp was probably hoping to take advantage of a situation at Real Madrid and sign him up. Tchouameni would have had regular game time at Anfield and it would have been ideal for his development. However, Real Madrid do not need the money and Liverpool will find it extremely difficult to change their mind.

Furthermore, Liverpool are likely to miss out on Champions League football next season. And players like Tchouameni, whose market value is €90 million, will want to compete at the highest level. The Reds were heavily linked with a move for Jude Bellingham in recent months.

But it appears that the England international is now heading to Santiago Bernabeu instead. Borussia Dortmund are demanding a premium for the 19-year-old, and Liverpool will not be able to afford him this summer. It remains to be seen whether Liverpool can find quality alternatives and strengthen their midfield in the coming weeks now.
