Liverpool have been linked with Borussia Dortmund midfielder Jude Bellingham in recent months but are ready to sacrifice him for Aurelien Tchouameni.
Jude Bellingham is a top target for Liverpool. But they are now prepared to give up on him in order to sign Aurelien Tchouameni from Real Madrid, as per Defensa Central.
The 23-year-old French international midfielder joined Real Madrid at the start of the season, and Liverpool were keen on securing his services back then. However, the player chose to move to the Spanish club, although things are not going to plan for him.
Apparently, Real Madrid are prepared to cash in on the player because his performances have not been up to the desired level. It will be interesting to see if Liverpool submit a concrete bid to sign Aurelien Tchouameni at the end of the season after reigniting their interest in him.
The Reds are in desperate need of a quality defensive midfielder, and the French international would be a superb acquisition. The 23-year-old was regarded as a world-class talent during his time at AS Monaco, and he could develop into a top-class player. Working with a coach like Jurgen Klopp could help the midfielder improve further and fulfil his potential.
Real Madrid paid around €100 million to sign the midfielder last summer, and it will be interesting to see if they are willing to accept a reasonable fee for the player this time around.
Liverpool have had a disappointing season so far, and they are expected to miss out on Champions League qualification. It remains to be seen whether the French international is prepared to join the club without Champions League football next season.
The midfield has been a major concern for Liverpool this season, and Klopp will have to bring in the necessary reinforcement during the summer transfer window. Furthermore, Liverpool are expected to lose players like Naby Keita, Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain, and James Milner as free agents at the end of the season. So they will have to replace those players adequately as well.
Bringing in just one midfielder will not cut it for the Reds, and they must look to bring in multiple reinforcements in the middle of the park. Bellingham has been the priority target for Liverpool, but they are ready to sacrifice him if they get Tchouameni.

Tchouameni and Bellingham are different types of midfielders, and it will be interesting to see whether Klopp is ready to prioritise the signing of a quality defensive midfielder like the Real Madrid star ahead of a swashbuckling central midfielder like Bellingham.
He wasn’t interested first time around. We are not someone’s second choice.
