Aurelien Tchouameni was one of the biggest transfer stories of the summer window. Despite tremendous interest from Premier League sides, Real Madrid secured the 23-year-old star by paying €100 million to AS Monaco. Liverpool were among those keen on the midfielder.
Despite a bright start to life for Real Madrid, Tchouameni’s game has regressed since the World Cup. Once Casemiro left the club late in the summer window, the 23-year-old was under tremendous pressure to replace the Brazilian, and early performances indicated he was more than capable.
However, since the last few months, he has steadily seen more of the bench than his name on Carlo Ancelotti’s teamsheet. Compatriot Eduardo Camavinga has taken the opportunity and pipped him into this Real Madrid side. The recent international break also showed Camavinga was ahead of Tchouameni in the France setup.
Despite interest in Camavinga during January, Real Madrid are uninterested in selling the Frenchman. But that may not be true with Tchouameni. The La Liga giants are reportedly open to entertaining offers for the 23-year-old with a €90 million market value.

Liverpool are desperately in the market to revamp their midfield setup. Players like Jude Bellingham, Enzo Le Fee and Mason Mount have seen their names linked with a move. Jurgen Klopp was keen on Tchouameni last summer before losing to Real Madrid.
He could return for the 23-year-old Frenchman, but only at the right price. The €90 million-rated midfielder will prove a costly affair for Liverpool, considering they are already planning on spending big on Bellingham and Josko Gvardiol.
Meanwhile, Arsenal are serious about bringing in a new defensive midfielder. While Tchouameni’s potential availability will excite Mikel Arteta, the Gunners are already confident about signing Declan Rice in the window.
