Napoli are interested in acquiring the services of 24-year-old Chelsea forward Christian Pulisic ahead of next season.

According to Corriere dello Sport via Calciomercatoweb, Napoli want to sign Christian Pulisic ahead of next season. After their heroics in the ongoing season, Aurelio De Laurentiis is ready to spend big in order to further strengthen his team. And, Pulisic is one of their transfer targets heading into the summer.

The 24-year-old American international penned down a deal with the Blues back in the winter of 2019. He stayed at Borussia Dortmund until the end of the season and then moved to England in the summer. While he started off in fine fashion, things did not really work out for the Dortmund forward at Chelsea.

He struggled with injuries and eventually fell down the pecking order. At this point in time, he is not an important part of their project and is likely to be on the move in the summer. While he has featured in 27 matches in the ongoing season, the 24-year-old has been on the pitch for less than 1,000 minutes.

His contract at the club ends in the summer of 2024, and the Blues would prefer offloading him in the summer for a decent fee rather than losing out on him for free. Meanwhile, Napoli are keen on having him in their ranks.

The Partenopei have done wonders in the ongoing season. They have managed to win the Serie A title and end their decades-long drought. While the fans are busy celebrating the win, the club have already started planning for the upcoming transfer window. And, Aurelio De Laurentiis is keen on further strengthening his squad.

The Napoli supremo is likely to add a lot more quality to his ranks to continue their dominance in Italy and push for the Champions League title. While Pulisic has failed to live up to the expectations at Chelsea, the 24-year-old still has time on his side and can surely revive his career with the Diego Armando Maradona Stadium.

Napoli believe he could bolster their attack and with Hirving Lozano’s future uncertain, the American international could turn out to be the perfect acquisition.
