Chelsea and Adrien Rabiot are reportedly a Bosman move for the summer, with the 28-year-old likely to become a free agent.

According to reputed Italian journalist Rudy Galetti, Adrien Rabiot is the subject of interest from Chelsea. The 28-year-old is on the verge of leaving Juventus as a free agent in the summer transfer window. And the Blues are discussing a Bosman move with the World Cup finalist’s entourage.

Adrien Rabiot has redeemed himself this season after a few turmoil-laden campaigns. The French international left Paris Saint-Germain in acrimony after Les Parisiens practically begged him to stay. And it seemed the Bosman move to Juventus nearly four years ago would end as a failure.

But the 28-year-old has stepped up his performance levels considerably this season. He was also a part of the French squad that reached the final of the 2022 FIFA World Cup. Meanwhile, the player has 11 goals and four assists in 41 appearances across all competitions this term. But Rabiot’s contract situation has left Juventus in a spot of bother while alerting several clubs, including Chelsea.

The Frenchman is in the final months of his contract with Juventus. And with talks between the two parties not amounting to much, he will likely leave the Bianconeri as a free agent. And such a situation has captured the attention of Chelsea over a possible Bosman move.

Chelsea spent a club-record sum to sign Enzo Fernandez in the summer transfer window. But they remain in the market for a midfielder heading into the summer. That is because several midfielders face an uncertain future at Stamford Bridge. These include N’Golo Kante, who has not signed a new contract and will see his current deal end in a few weeks.

In addition, Mason Mount, Ruben Loftus-Cheek, and Conor Gallagher face uncertain futures at Chelsea. So the Blues need to scour the market for a midfielder, with Romeo Lavia among their targets. But Rudy Galetti claims Chelsea will sign two midfielders, with the West London club discussing a Bosman move with Rabiot.

Apart from Lavia and Rabiot, Manu Kone and Khephren Thuram also feature on Chelsea’s wishlist. And it will be interesting to see which two midfielders the Blues sign in the summer transfer window. For now, a Bosman move for the 28-year-old World Cup finalist is possible.
