Chelsea are interested in acquiring the services of 19-year-old Leeds United winger Wilfried Gnonto ahead of next season.

According to a report by Football Insider, Chelsea want to land Wilfried Gnonto at Stamford Bridge ahead of next season. The 19-year-old forward has impressed one and all in his very first season in the Premier League and there are quite a few clubs interested in signing the Italian international.

Gnonto started off at the Inter Milan youth academy. He came through the ranks at the club and was a part of their Under-19 setup when he decided to join the Swiss club FC Zurich. Leeds United signed the 19-year-old ahead of the ongoing season for just £3.8 million after two impressive seasons in Switzerland.

The Italy international has impressed one and all since joining the English club. And, his transfer fee seems to be an absolute bargain on the back of his performances. The teenager has featured in 24 matches for the English club and has been involved in eight goals. He has found the back of the net on four occasions and has four assists to his name.

The 19-year-old is considered to be a great prospect for the future. And, quite a few clubs are willing to go all out for his services. While his contract with Leeds runs until the summer of 2027, he could be on the move in the summer just a year after joining them.

However, it will depend on whether Leeds United manage to survive in the English top flight or not. If they get relegated the teenager will push for a move, if not he will prefer staying there for another season. Meanwhile, Chelsea are keen on having him in their ranks.

They have been constantly scouting him in the ongoing season and believe he could become a world-class talent in the near future. Chelsea will be looking to offload a few of their big players who have been earning huge wages of late but have not been producing the performances. And, their focus is on signing highly talented young players.

The Italian international is a versatile player who can feature in multiple positions and could be a great asset for the club. As a result, it will be interesting to see if they can manage to land the 19-year-old in their ranks.
