Manchester City are ready to join the race for Neymar and rival Manchester United and Chelsea in the summer for Neymar.
According to Fichajes, Neymar could have plenty of suitors from the Premier League if he decides to leave in the summer. Manchester City are ready to enter the race for the record-breaking Brazilian international, with Manchester United and Chelsea also considering moves.
Neymar has been an enigma of a player compared to what he was at Barcelona. The record-breaking Brazilian international remains the costliest player after no club broke PSG’s record outlay on him years ago. The Parisians decided to pay his €222 million release clause in full and bring the superstar.
While he has been a good performer here, many controversies have always followed the Brazilian international. He has also been consistently criticised for his lifestyle and injury record here, with PSG reportedly willing to cash in if a reasonable offer arrives.
To make matters complicated for the Parisians, Neymar remains tied until 2027 owing to a clause in his previous contract. With four years remaining, the Ligue 1 side will find it difficult to offload him, considering his value and the mammoth wages he earns each week.
Yet, there is hope among those in charge of PSG that Neymar could find a new suitor in the summer. Manchester United were recently linked with a move, with Erik Ten Hag looking for an attacking signing that elevates the overall quality of his team. Neymar would certainly make them much stronger with his creativity and goalscoring prowess.
Manchester United have Chelsea to worry about, with the Blues seemingly interested in Neymar. Todd Boehly had been eyeing a marquee signing and wanted the record-breaking Brazilian international last summer. The club had to focus on their immediate need over a luxury signing like the PSG star. But they could rekindle their interest.
Now, Manchester City are ready to rekindle their interest in Neymar and bring the Brazilian to the Etihad. Incidentally, the PSG star has not played in England before and may consider moving if the conditions are right.
Manchester City are in the process of improving their stellar team. A player like Neymar will come in as a luxury for Pep Guardiola, who would want a star of his magnitude to improve his attack. They already have formidable attacking talents in Jack Grealish, Erling Haaland and Kevin De Bruyne, yet the former’s position is where the Brazilian could fit in.
As much as Grealish has improved, he does not provide the numbers a member of the front three should provide. On the other hand, Neymar has had good stats with goals and assists from the left side, something that would interest Guardiola.

As things stand, the financial details needed to bring the record-breaking Brazilian international to England remain unknown. PSG would hope for a sizeable fee in return, but any transfer will depend on Neymar’s will to give up his lucrative contract here and move away.
