Juventus will reportedly offer Chelsea outcast Denis Zakaria in the deal to sign 26-year-old Barcelona midfielder Franck Kessie this summer.

According to a report by Italian outlet Calciomercatoweb, Juventus will offer a part-exchange deal to sign Franck Kessie in the summer transfer window. The Serie A giants are ready to include Denis Zakaria, currently on loan at Chelsea, in the package to land the 26-year-old Barcelona midfielder.

Franck Kessie has endured a frustrating start to his stint with Barcelona. The Ivory Coast international arrived at Spotify Camp Nou last summer in a Bosman deal after running out his deal with AC Milan. And after being a talismanic figure for the Rossoneri, he would have envisioned a bright future with Barcelona.

But Sergio Busquets, Frenkie de Jong, Pedri, and Gavi are ahead of him in the pecking order. So the 26-year-old has had to bide his time, although he has made 39 appearances thus far this term. But Kessie’s long-term Barcelona future is uncertain amid his frustrations with game time. Such a situation has captured the attention of several high-profile clubs, including Juventus.

Juventus will attempt a squad overhaul in the summer transfer window in the wake of the recent controversy surrounding them. Authorities are investigating financial irregularities by the Bianconeri, who will hope to build a title-winning season for next season. And several midfielders may thus bite the dust.

One such player is Denis Zakaria, who has been at Chelsea on loan this season. The 26-year-old joined Juventus last summer from Borussia Monchengladbach, hoping to take his career to the next level. But the Bianconeri shipped the Swiss midfielder out to Chelsea last summer.

The 26-year-old has endured a frustrating spell with Chelsea, where he has largely been a bit-part player. And the Serie A giants are ready to use Zakaria in a part-exchange deal to sign Kessie this summer. With money an issue for both clubs, exchanging midfielders might be the best foot forward.

Meanwhile, several Premier League clubs have also shown interest in the Barcelona midfielder. But it will be interesting to see if Juventus’s offer turns Barcelona’s head and if the Catalan giants are open to getting Chelsea outcast Zakaria in such an arrangement.
