Manchester United have been linked with Jude Bellingham in recent months but have now set their sights on Alexis Mac Allister.

It appears that Manchester United have moved on from Jude Bellingham, and they are ready to focus their attention towards the Brighton & Hove Albion star Alexis Mac Allister. A report from Fichajes claims that the 24-year-old World Cup winner, also a target for Liverpool, is a priority target for the Red Devils now.

The player has been linked with Liverpool as well, and Mac Allister could prove to be a quality acquisition for both clubs. The 24-year-old has established himself as a key player for Brighton, and he is undoubtedly one of the best central midfielders in the league right now.

He was outstanding in the World Cup as well, helping Argentina lift the coveted trophy in Qatar. Mac Allister is still quite young and is likely to improve further with coaching and experience. He has all the attributes to develop into a world-class playmaker.

Manchester United need to add more craft and technical ability in the middle of the park. The Red Devils have a world-class defensive midfielder in Casemiro. But they will have to partner him with a quality controller. Mac Allister seems like the ideal partner for the Brazilian international in theory. And the two players could form a quality partnership in the middle of the park next season.

Manchester United will be hoping to challenge for the league title and the Champions League next year. So they will need players of Mac Allister’s calibre in order to compete with clubs like Manchester City and Arsenal.

Meanwhile, Liverpool need a quality midfielder like the 24-year-old as well. The Reds will lose players like Naby Keita, James Milner and Alex-Oxlade Chamberlain as free agents this summer. They will have to bring in adequate replacements, and the Brighton star seems like the perfect fit for Jurgen Klopp’s system.

Apart from his creativity and technical ability, the Argentine international has a relentless work ethic and he is well suited to Klopp’s high-intensity pressing game.
