Liverpool have reportedly made their move to sign Argentine international Alexis Mac Allister, valued at £70 million.

A report from Football Insider claims that Liverpool have now registered their interest in signing Alexis Mac Allister at the end of the season. Brighton & Hove Albion will demand around £70 million to part ways with the World Cup winner.

Alexis Mac Allister has caught the attention of a number of top clubs with his performances over the past few months. And it is no surprise that Liverpool are looking to sign him. The Reds will lose players like Naby Keita, Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain and James Milner at the end of the season. Furthermore, Fabinho and Jordan Henderson have regressed massively.

It is imperative that Liverpool bring in a number of quality central midfielders at the end of the season. And Mac Allister would be an exciting addition. The 24-year-old has proven in his quality in the Premier League he deserves to play for a club capable of winning major trophies. He has been linked with Manchester City as well.

A move to Liverpool would be the ideal step up in the Argentine international’s career. And it would help the World Cup-winning midfielder develop further. Working with a world-class coach like Jurgen Klopp will only help him improve as a player and fulfil his potential in the coming seasons.

The 24-year-old made his mark at the international level with Argentina as well, helping them win the World Cup back in December. The 24-year-old was a key player for his country during the tournament in Qatar. Mac Allister has the technical and physical attributes to adapt to Klopp’s high-pressing system. And he would be an upgrade on players like Henderson next season.

Apparently, Brighton value the player at £70 million, and it will be interesting to see if Liverpool can afford to pay that kind of money for him. The Reds are thought to be keen on signing Borussia Dortmund midfielder Jude Bellingham as well, and the England international will cost a club-record fee.

If Liverpool can sign the two midfielders at the end of the season, they could transform the club in the middle of the park and help them return to the top of English football once again. For now, they have stepped up their interest in Mac Allister.
