Premier League clubs Manchester City, Arsenal, and Liverpool are set to battle it out for the services of Alexis Mac Allister.
According to a report by Daily Star, Arsenal, Liverpool and Manchester City are interested in the services of Alexis Mac Allister. The Brighton midfielder has been on fire in the ongoing season, and his heroics have not gone unnoticed.
A lot of clubs have their eyes set on the 24-year-old, and they are likely to push for his signature in the summer. Mac Allister made a name for himself in the recently concluded FIFA World Cup. The 24-year-old featured in all seven games for Argentina in the World Cup. He played an integral part in helping his nation lift the biggest prize in world football.
Mac Allister joined Brighton back in the winter of 2019 from Argentinos Juniors. In his initial days, he was sent out on loan to develop his game. After two loan spells in Argentine clubs, he returned to England and managed to break into the first team.
During his time at the club, he has featured in 93 matches and has 21 goal contributions to his name. The 24-year-old has managed to add goals to his game in the ongoing season. The central midfielder has found the back of the net on seven occasions in his 21 appearances for the Seagulls.
His contract at Brighton ends in the summer of 2025 and the Seagulls have the option to extend it by another 12 months. However, the player is still expected to leave in the summer. And, as per reports, Brighton will not stand in his way. They will allow him to leave for a fee close to £70 million.
Meanwhile, Premier League clubs are eager to land Mac Allister at their club in the summer. Manchester City have their eyes on the World Cup winner. With the future of İlkay Gundogan and Bernardo Silva uncertain, they are willing to spend big on bringing in the Brighton midfielder.
Pep Guardiola is looking to freshen up his midfield. And Mac Allister’s arrival will surely bring a new dimension to his team. The 24-year-old is a versatile player who can play as a defensive, attacking and central midfielder.
Meanwhile, Liverpool are also interested in his services. They have been struggling in the ongoing season because of their inconsistent midfield. Jurgen Klopp is keen on revamping his midfield and would love to have Mac Allister to start the process.
However, Manchester City and Liverpool will face competition from Arsenal. The Gunners want to add more firepower to their midfield. Despite signing Jorginho in January, they are expected to enter the market for another central midfielder ahead of next season. The Argentine international will be a great fit for the Gunners given his versatility. But it will be interesting to see who can manage to land the World Cup winner in the summer.
