Arsenal, Chelsea and Liverpool are ‘crazy’ about Xavi Simons ahead of the summer with a departure from PSV Eindhoven on the cards.
According to Fichajes, there’s ‘crazy’ interest in Xavi Simons from Arsenal, Liverpool and Chelsea ahead of the summer. The PSV Eindhoven star could leave the Eredivisie side in the next window, and he could evaluate his offers from Premier League sides.
Xavi Simons decided to join PSV Eindhoven from PSG to improve his career. It has worked out for the teenager, as he has flourished under Ruud van Nistelrooy, scoring around 17 goals and providing nine assists.
His performances have not gone unnoticed among the Premier League circle, with some big sides keen to take Simons to England. Several teams like the Dutch star’s profile for their squad and could make an offer in the summer window.
The report states Arsenal, Chelsea, and Liverpool are ‘crazy’ about the attacker and could make a move for the 19-year-old star. The idea of Premier League football could entice Simons, as he could consider it a step above Eredivisie.
Simons can play in all three positions behind the striker. Arsenal’s interest is a bit puzzling. But the 17-goal midfielder’s numbers could catch Mikel Arteta’s attention. The Gunners could enter the market for another attacking midfielder considering their interest in Gabri Veiga, among other stars.
Considering the market, Simons will cost a lot more than Veiga. Hence, they could switch their attention quickly towards the Spaniard. Meanwhile, Chelsea are also keen among other sides. Todd Boehly may look to continue spending to sign young talents.
Since they have already signed Noni Madueke in January from PSV, Chelsea could raid the club again for another one of their attacking talents. The Blues might lose a few homegrown stars like Mason Mount and Conor Gallagher in the summer, and Simons could replace one of those.
Finally, Liverpool are in the market for new talents in midfield and behind the front line. They are incidentally keen on Mount from Chelsea. But any move will depend on the price point. Jurgen Klopp likes the profile of Simons and could make a swoop.
Liverpool also have good relations with PSV after their transfer of Cody Gakpo in January. They could make contact again if their interest in Simons continues to grow. For now, these sides are linked, but much of the action will resume in the summer window.
