Premier League champions Manchester City reportedly lead the race to sign Jude Bellingham, a target for Real Madrid.
According to Rodrigo Faez and Rob Dawson, Jude Bellingham is closer to joining Manchester City than Real Madrid. Erling Haaland and Jack Grealish will play important roles in landing the 19-year-old at the Etihad. But Bundesliga club Borussia Dortmund will try to keep the youngster at the Signal Iduna Park for another season.
Jude Bellingham has set the footballing world alight since making history at Birmingham City FC. And after setting several records at the Midlands club, he joined Borussia Dortmund in 2020. Since then, the Englishman has established himself as one of the best midfielders in the Bundesliga.
The 19-year-old is now an instrumental figure for his club and country. And the youngster has enjoyed an excellent 2022/23 season thus far, amassing ten goals and seven assists in 37 outings. But Bellingham’s long-term future will likely be at a bigger club than Dortmund. And Real Madrid and Manchester City want to prise him away from the Bundesliga outfit.
At Real Madrid, Bellingham will be a long-term successor to Luka Modric. The Croatian midfielder is approaching the end of his illustrious career. And the reigning La Liga champions want to ensure a smooth succession to the next generation. The 19-year-old is thus a viable target for Real Madrid.
Recent reports have claimed that the Merengues are ready to offer a lucrative contract to the English international. But Real Madrid will have to fend off stiff competition from Manchester City to sign the teenage sensation.
The Premier League champions view the Borussia Dortmund star as a long-term successor to Kevin De Bruyne. In addition, with Bernardo Silva keen on embarking on a new adventure, the 19-year-old can take his place. And according to Rodrigo Faez, Bellingham is closer to joining Manchester City than Real Madrid.

Erling Haaland and Jack Grealish will play crucial roles in bringing the Englishman to the Etihad. But Borussia Dortmund will also attempt to keep at the Bundesliga club beyond the summer.
