Chelsea enter the race for the services of 21-year-old forward Goncalo Ramos who is on the radar of Manchester United.

According to a report by Football Insider, Chelsea are keen on acquiring the services of Goncalo Ramos. The 21-year-old has been the talk of the town since his heroics at the FIFA World Cup 2022. And, Manchester United were keen on having him in their ranks. However, they are set to face competition from the Blues.

Ramos’ stocks have risen significantly in the ongoing season. He has featured in 37 matches and has 35 goal contributions. The 21-year-old has found the back of the net on 25 occasions and has 10 assists to his name.

While his club season has been terrific, he came into the limelight because of what he did at the World Cup for Portugal. The Benfica forward smashed a hat trick while playing for Portugal in the round of 16 of the global event against Switzerland. He started ahead of Cristiano Ronaldo and managed to deliver on the biggest stage of them all.

Ramos has been a part of the Benfica setup since his childhood days. He has gone up the ranks at the club and has established himself as a key member. And, his heroics in the ongoing season have made him one of the hottest properties in the world at the moment.

Chelsea are one of the clubs keen on the 21-year-old. They consider him to be a great alternative for Victor Osimhen who is one of their targets. The Blues are aware of the fact that Osimhen will cost over £100 million while the Portugal international could be available for around £70 million.

The Blues have signed quite a few players in the last few windows. But, performances on the field haven’t improved. They have recently sacked Graham Potter and have asked club legend and former manager Frank Lampard to act as caretaker manager until the end of the season.

The club are well aware of the fact that they are in need of a new out-and-out striker. They have identified the 21-year-old as a great option to have in their ranks. And, the fact that he is represented by Gestifute, the same agency that represents Joao Felix could help their cause.

However, they will have to battle it out with Manchester United who have been keeping tabs on the Portugal international for a while now. Erik ten Hag is well aware of the fact that they need someone who could share the goal-scoring load with Marcus Rashford.

Ten Hag is keen on having Ramos in his ranks as he is looking to sort out the forward position. With Anthony Martial’s future uncertain and Wout Weghorst set to return to his parent club, signing the 21-year-old could be the best possible move for the Red Devils.
