Manchester United are reportedly looking to sell Anthony Martial at the end of the season.

According to a report from Fichajes, Manchester United are prepared to cash in on the 27-year-old French striker Anthony Martial in the summer.

The Frenchman has been a squad player for Erik ten Hag this season and he has started just 6 league games for Manchester United. He needs to play more regularly at this stage of his career and a move away from Old Trafford would be ideal for him.

The 27-year-old arrived at Manchester United surrounded by massive expectations but the move has proven to be quite underwhelming so far. He has scored just six goals across all competitions this season.

Martial was expected to develop into a world-class player but his development has stalled in recent seasons. The 27-year-old is now at a crossroads in his career and he needs a fresh move in order to get his career back on track.

The Red Devils have been linked with a number of strikers in recent weeks including the Napoli star Victor Osimhen. If Manchester United end up signing the 24-year-old at the end of the season, Martial will drop further down the pecking order.

Marcus Rashford has been in outstanding form this season and the England international is likely to nail down the left-wing role with a new number nine leading the attack next season.

Martial has a contract with Manchester United until the summer of 2024 and the Premier League side will feel that the summer transfer window is their final opportunity to recoup a substantial amount of money for him.

They will not want to lose him on a free transfer next summer.

It remains to be seen whether there are suitors willing to provide the French striker with an exit route in the coming months.

Martial is clearly a very talented player and a move away from Manchester United could help him focus on his football and recapture his form and confidence. He could prove to be a quality acquisition for most teams around the world. It remains to be seen how the situation develops.
