Chelsea, Manchester United, Real Madrid need to pay €65 million to sign Rasmus Hojlund

Atalanta striker Rasmus Hojlund, dubbed the “new Haaland”, has been linked with a summer move away from the Serie A club.

According to a report from Defensa Central, Chelsea, Manchester United, and Real Madrid are reportedly keen on signing 20-year-old Danish striker Rasmus Hojlund at the end of the season. The report claims that the three clubs would have to fork out a fee of around €65 million to sign the 20-year-old striker during the summer transfer window.

The player has been linked with a move to Arsenal as well.  Hojlund joined Atalanta at the start of the season from Sturm Graz, and he has been in outstanding form this season. The striker has 14 goals and six assists to his name across all competitions, and he has the potential to develop into a top-class player for all three clubs.

Chelsea are in desperate need of attacking reinforcements, and they will need to bring in a reliable goalscorer at the end of the season. Summer signing Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang has been largely underwhelming, and the experienced forward is expected to leave Stamford Bridge soon.

Chelsea have added a lot of creativity to their side over the last couple of windows, and they need to bring in someone who can find the back of the net consistently now.

As far as Manchester United are concerned, they have been openly reliant on Marcus Rashford this season. So Erik ten Hag must look to bring him someone who can share the goalscoring burden alongside the 25-year-old England international.

Hojlund is a player with immense potential, and he could develop into a key player for the Red Devils. Erik ten Hag has helped nurture talented young players throughout their managerial careers. And the Dutchman could help the 20-year-old Atalanta striker fulfil his potential as well.

Meanwhile, Real Madrid are reportedly looking for potential long-term replacements for club legend, Karim Benzema. The French international striker is in his twilight years, and Real Madrid will need to replace him soon. And signing a striker termed the “new Haaland” when they could not sign Erling Haaland is understandable.

It will be interesting to see who comes forward with a concrete proposal for the 20-year-old striker in the coming months. All the clubs have the financial resources to pay the reported €65 million asking price for the striker. While the price might seem steep right now, the 20-year-old has the potential to justify the investment in the long run.
