Manchester United showing genuine interest in Rasmus Hojlund

Manchester United have an interest in Rasmus Hojlund ahead of the summer, with Arsenal also vying for the striker.

According to Ekstra Bladet via Sport Witness, Manchester United have a ‘concrete’ interest in Rasmus Hojlund. With the club seeking a new striker in the market, they might look at the self-confessed ‘Red Devils’ fan to join Erik ten Hag’s squad next season.

Rasmus Hojlund continues to shine for Atalanta, with his performances attracting the attention of several big clubs. The Serie A side could consider offers if they are up to the mark; otherwise, they will keep the striker within their ranks.

Real Madrid were one of the clubs reportedly keeping tabs on Hojlund, but other clubs could come in as the season ends. The 20-year-old is also a target for Arsenal, with another report claiming Atalanta could demand around €40-45 million for the striker.

However, the current story insists the value is much lower, meaning clubs could sign Hojlund for around £23-31 million in the summer. Manchester United are also keen on the striker, with Erik ten Hag reportedly keeping tabs to make an offer in the summer.

The story also ran quotes by Hojlund, previously confessing his love for Manchester United. He also suggested prioritising a move to Old Trafford if the Red Devils came calling. Hojlund said, “Now that you ask, I will not hide the fact that I am a huge Manchester United fan. So personally, it would be one of the biggest things for me, but of course, that doesn’t mean that I would turn down other big clubs if the offers come at some point.”

Manchester United are keen on the striker but have not made any enquiries. They remain linked with top names like Victor Osimhen and Harry Kane. Yet, recent media reports also linked with a young striker like Evan Ferguson.

The links to the Brighton striker and Hojlund show that maybe ten Hag considers signing a young striker. With Wout Weghorst likely to depart, Anthony Martial could also leave the club. Hence, bringing in two strikers would make sense for Manchester United.

In any case, Hojlund will not a starting centre-forward for Manchester United just yet. Meaning he could arrive on top of a notable striker in the summer. Arsenal could compete for the 20-year-old. But if the Red Devils arrive with an offer, the striker might choose the latter.
