Arsenal are reportedly keeping an eye on Ansu Fati and could approach to sign the Barcelona star, who also interests Manchester United.

Ansu Fati’s future could become a source of concern for Barcelona fans in the summer. Several Premier League sides have shown admiration before. Sport reckons Arsenal could ‘dream’ of signing the forward and could make an approach.

Ansu Fati has recently regressed after being heralded as Lionel Messi’s natural successor at Barcelona. With a new contract signed in 2021, the 20-year-old was also given Messi’s infamous no.10 shirt as fans built their expectations around the forward.

A serious injury has since hampered his progress. And the visible loss in confidence has seen fans lose trust. Many within Barcelona feel Fati cannot reach his potential and reach the top at Camp Nou. His contract ties him to the club until 2027, with the option to extend it by another two years.

Considering how the club has plunged with their financial troubles, they could make a few sizeable sales to balance their act. With Xavi Hernandez not showing confidence in the forward, Barcelona might consider cashing in on the forward.

His father’s recent comments in the media pointed to the growing friction between the two parties. It could ultimately end with a sale, with several Premier League sides angling for the La Liga ace. Arsenal and Manchester United were reportedly offered a chance earlier, but that might not be the case.

Fati is also a Manchester United target. But the recent developments with their young starlets like Alejandro Garnacho may see them cool their interest. However, more teams are in the mix, with Arsenal reportedly ‘dreaming’ of signing the 20-year-old.

Mikel Arteta has long admired Fati and his talents. The financial implications of brokering a deal may have stopped him from approaching. Arsenal needed a left-sided attacker until January. With Leandro Trossard’s arrival, the Gunners might have closed the requirement.

Yet, if there is a market opportunity with Fati, Arteta might urge the club to make enquiries. The same could be true for Manchester United. But both clubs have different needs in the upcoming summer window.

Fati has a long career ahead and could make the grade at Barcelona if given the time. But financial troubles could force a sale in the near future. Fati might find himself playing for another club, possibly in the Premier League.
