Chelsea are all set to battle it out with Manchester United for the signature of 20-year-old Barcelona prospect Ansu Fati.

According to SPORT, Chelsea and Manchester United are keen on having the services of Ansu Fati. The 20-year-old Barcelona wonderkid has not had the best of times of late. And, there is a possibility that he could leave the Catalan giants in the summer. As a result, a lot of big clubs from across Europe have their eyes on him.

Fati joined Barcelona’s youth academy La Masia back in the summer of 2012 from Sevilla. He has since gone through the ranks at the club and even became an important part of their first team. However, injuries and lack of game time of late have made things complicated for the 20-year-old.

His agent Jorge Mendes and father Bori Fati are not happy with the situation. His father recently talked about the Spain international’s lack of game time at Barcelona. The explosive statements from his father’s side could be indications of the fact that he might leave Barcelona if the perfect opportunity arrives.

Meanwhile, Fati’s agent Mendes has also been looking for opportunities elsewhere. Mendes is one of the super-agents who has close contacts and good relations with a lot of big clubs across Europe. He has already started to explore possible destinations for the player if the situation at Barcelona does not improve.

While the Spain international has featured in 38 matches in the ongoing season, he has only racked up just over 1m300 minutes. And, Fati has nine goal contributions to his name. While he has not been at his best of late, there are a lot of clubs who are still willing to bet on the 20-year-old.

Manchester United are one of the clubs that would love to have Fati in their ranks, His agent Mendes has great relations with the club, and a deal could be possible if he decides to leave Barcelona in the summer. The Red Devils are searching for an attacker who can add goals and share the scoring load with Marcus Rashford.

Fati fits the bill perfectly for Manchester United. However, they will face competition from Chelsea, who are also keen on having the 20-year-old in their ranks. The Blues have spent a fortune on acquiring players of late. And, they are still looking for a forward who can end their goal-scoring struggles.

While Fati has not had much game time in the recent past, he surely has the quality to lead the line at the Blues. However, it will be interesting to see if the Barcelona youth product decides to leave the club in the summer or wait and try his luck under Xavi for another season. Meanwhile, Newcastle United and Arsenal are also interested and will compete with Chelsea and Manchester United.
