Chelsea are all set to break the bank to acquire the services of 24-year-old Napoli forward Victor Osimhen ahead of next season.

According to Football Insider, Chelsea are keen on signing Victor Osimhen in the summer. The Blues are ready to pay £100 million to land the Napoli forward at Stamford Bridge. The 24-year-old has been one of the best forwards in world football and a lot of big clubs have their eyes set on him.

Osimhen joined the Naples-based club back in the summer of 2020 from LOSC Lille. He joined the Italian side for a club-record fee of £78.5 million. His transfer to Italy made him the most expensive African player of all time. And, he has surely lived up to the price tag.

The 24-year-old has featured in a total of 91 matches for the team in blue and has 67 goal contributions to his name. He has gone from strength to strength since joining Napoli. As far as the ongoing season is concerned, the Nigerian international has scored 25 goals in his 29 outings and also has five assists.

Osimhen’s performance for the Italian club have helped them stamp their authority in Serie A. Napoli have a 19-point lead over second-placed Inter Milan. They are on course to win the Italian league after ages. And, a lot of credit goes to the Serie A top scorer, Victor Osimhen who has found the back of the net on 21 occasions in the league.

He has also played a key role in the UEFA Champions League campaign as the Naples-based club are all set to square up against rivals AC Milan in the quarter-finals. Meanwhile, his contract at the club runs until the summer of 2025. However, he might be on his way out in the summer given the amount of interest from elsewhere.

Chelsea are one of the clubs keen on having him in their ranks. Graham Potter is desperate to add a new striker to their squad. It has been hard for them to find the back of the net of late. And, signing the 24-year-old will surely help their cause.

The Blues are well aware of the fact that missing out on the UCL for next season will make it difficult for them to acquire Osimhen. However, they are ready to showcase their financial power and are preparing a bid of £100 million for the Nigerian international. But, with Manchester United, Arsenal, Liverpool and Real Madrid all interested in his services, it is likely to go down to the wire.
