Florian Wirtz has been linked with a summer move away from Bayer Leverkusen, with Barcelona, Real Madrid, and Manchester City keen.
A report from Fichajes claims Barcelona and Real Madrid are keen on sign Florian Wirtz. And they will face competition from Premier League Manchester City for the 19-year-old German prodigy.
Apparently, the midfielder is valued between €90 million and €100 million. And it remains to be seen whether the three clubs are prepared to pay that kind of money to secure his services.
The 19-year-old is highly rated around Europe, and he has a big future ahead of him. Wirtz has the potential to develop into a world-class playmaker. And it is hardly surprising why Manchester City, Barcelona and Real Madrid are keen on signing him.
Barcelona have been linked with a move for Manchester City midfielder Bernardo Silva. And it is clear that they are looking for a versatile attacking midfielder. Wirtz can operate as the central attacking midfielder as well as a winger.
His versatility will be an added bonus for Xavi Hernandez and Barcelona if they manage to secure his services. However, the Catalan club are going through financial difficulties, and it seems highly unlikely that they will be able to pay €100 million for the youngster.
Meanwhile, Real Madrid could lose Marco Asensio in the summer. Eden Hazard has been linked with a move away from the club as well. Carlo Ancelotti needs to add more depth to his attack. And Wirtz would be a superb long-term acquisition.
As for Manchester City, the likes of Jack Grealish have been largely underwhelming since joining the club and Bernardo Silva is reportedly keen on a move away. Pep Guardiola could be forced to make a move for an attacking midfielder in the summer. And Wirtz seems like a quality option.
