Arsenal and Chelsea are reportedly interested in signing 23-year-old Real Madrid playmaker Brahim Diaz this coming summer.

According to a report by Italian outlet TuttoMercatoWeb, Brahim Diaz is seeing his stock rise every day. Arsenal and Chelsea are the latest clubs to show interest in the 23-year-old Real Madrid playmaker. Meanwhile, AC Milan will look to sign the youngster permanently in the summer transfer window.

Brahim Diaz took a brave decision to leave Manchester City to join Real Madrid, potentially sacrificing crucial first-team minutes. And his call has arguably not worked out well, as he has not progressed as well as he would have liked. In addition, the Spaniard is yet to become a regular for the Spanish national side.

The 23-year-old has been on loan at AC Milan since September 2020. And while Diaz has been a regular, he has not been prolific with his contribution in the final third. A tally of five goals and two assists in 31 appearances does not inspire much confidence. But the player is a target for several high-profile clubs, including Arsenal and Chelsea.

Arsenal and Real Madrid share a healthy working relationship. The two clubs have traded several players in the past decade, with Martin Odegaard the latest success story. The Norwegian playmaker has seen his stock skyrocket at the Emirates, and he is now the Arsenal captain. And the Gunners wish to repeat the operation with Brahim Diaz.

Mikel Arteta, who worked with the 23-year-old Real Madrid playmaker during their days together at Manchester City, believes he can help the youngster fulfil his potential. But Arsenal will face stiff competition from Chelsea in the race to sign the Spanish international.

The Blues are in a spot of bother over Mason Mount’s long-term future. Contract renewal talks between the Englishman and Chelsea have not progressed well. And the west London giants are considering selling Mount in the summer transfer window. Diaz is thus a viable target for Chelsea.

Apart from Arsenal and Chelsea, the 23-year-old Real Madrid playmaker is also a target for Newcastle United. Meanwhile, AC Milan will also look to sign the Spaniard permanently in the summer transfer window. So it will be interesting to see where Diaz plies his trade next season.
