Real Madrid considering Tammy Abraham move

La Liga champions Real Madrid are reportedly interested in signing Tammy Abraham, valued at €80 million by AS Roma, this summer.

According to a report by Spanish outlet Defensa Central, Tammy Abraham is the subject of interest from Real Madrid. The reigning La Liga champions want to sign a striker in the summer transfer window. And AS Roma will demand €80 million to part ways with the English forward at the end of the season.

Tammy Abraham has resurrected his career since joining AS Roma from Chelsea in August 2021. The 25-year-old was already among the most highly-rated strikers in England when he left Chelsea. But he has done well to move on and secure regular game time in Italy.

The English forward was instrumental in AS Roma winning the UEFA Europa Conference League last term. But he has not enjoyed a good 2022/23 season thus far, managing only seven goals and six assists in 35 appearances. That has not deterred Abraham’s prospective suitors, with Real Madrid among the clubs interested.

Real Madrid will likely enter the market for a striker in the summer transfer window. While Karim Benzema has been sensational in the last four seasons, fitness issues have plagued him this term. And while the Real Madrid captain has still scored goals consistently, Carlo Ancelotti can do with an alternative.

In addition, Mariano Diaz will likely depart from the Santiago Bernabeu in the summer transfer window. Several strikers, including Goncalo Ramos, have thus popped up on Real Madrid’s radar. But Tammy Abraham is also an option worth considering for the reigning La Liga champions.

While the English forward has not been consistent this season, he has his best years ahead of him. And Abraham can benefit from Benzema’s presence in the Real Madrid dugout. But the 25-year-old will cost a bomb, with AS Roma demanding €80 million in exchange for his services.

Real Madrid might not have any qualms about shelling out €80 million to sign Abraham if they believe he can deliver the goods. For now, the English forward has emerged as a target for Real Madrid. And it will be interesting to see if a summer move sees the light of day.
