La Liga champions Real Madrid are reportedly interested in signing 25-year-old English striker Tammy Abraham from AS Roma.

According to a report by Spanish outlet Defensa Central, Tammy Abraham is the subject of interest from Real Madrid. The reigning La Liga champions want to sign the 25-year-old AS Roma striker in the summer transfer window.

Tammy Abraham is a product of the Chelsea academy, a club he joined as a six-year-old in 2004. The English international rapidly rose through the ranks at Cobham before turning professional over half a decade ago. But apart from a couple of seasons with the Chelsea first team, he did not enjoy a fruitful stint with the Blues.

The 25-year-old joined AS Roma in August 2021 and has made steady progress since then. While Abraham was sensational last season, he has been somewhat subdued thus far this term. And a tally of five goals and two assists in 23 appearances is sub-par for him. Nonetheless, the player remains on the radars of top clubs, including Real Madrid.

Los Blancos will likely enter the market for a striker in the summer transfer window. That is because Karim Benzema has encountered a few fitness issues thus far this season. In addition, Mariano Diaz will likely leave Real Madrid after the 2022/23 season ends. And the Spanish champions will need to fill the vacant spot that Mariano will inevitably leave.

Considering Endrick will not arrive at the Santiago Bernabeu before July 2024, Real Madrid will need someone to be Benzema’s alternative and backup. The Merengues have thus set their sights on several strikers, including Marcus Thuram. And Tammy Abraham is also a viable target for Real Madrid.

The 25-year-old English striker might not have had a decent 2022/23 season thus far. But he has shown that he has the quality to deliver the goods when his teammates provide better service. And Abraham will invariably have a much-better support cast at Real Madrid. But Los Blancos will need to fend off stiff competition for the AS Roma attacker.

Abraham is also a target for several Premier League clubs, including Arsenal and Chelsea. And it will be interesting to see if Real Madrid can beat the English outfits to land the 25-year-old English striker in the summer.
