Chelsea, Manchester United, and Tottenham Hotspur receive a blow as Brentford stand firm in the David Raya transfer saga.

According to a report by 90min, Brentford have cleared their stance regarding the future of David Raya. Chelsea, Manchester United, and Tottenham Hotspur have received a major blow in their pursuit of the Brentford goalkeeper.

Raya’s current contract with the Bees ends in the summer of 2024. With just over a year left in his contract, a lot of clubs are interested in acquiring his services. However, it might not be that easy to land him at the club because Brentford are not willing to sell him on the cheap.

The Bees have offered the 27-year-old shot-stopper multiple contract extension offers, but he is yet to pen down a new deal. Raya is looking to move on from the club in the summer as he looks for a bigger project where he can win major trophies. If push comes to shove, Brentford will demand £40 million for him.

A lot of clubs are interested in his services, but it won’t be easy to sign him. Brentford will only let him leave if they receive a good enough offer or else they are ready to let him run down his contract and leave for free in the summer of 2024.

Raya joined the Bees back in the summer of 2019. The Spain international has gone from strength to strength since joining them. He has been sensational for the club post their promotion in 2021. He has had another great season so far with eight clean sheets in 25 outings.

Meanwhile, Chelsea, Manchester United, and Tottenham Hotspur have been interested in the 27-year-old. And, they have been keeping a close eye on his contract situation at the club.

Spurs are looking for a new shot-stopper to replace Hugo Lloris, who is in the twilight of his career. The French goalkeeper is on the decline of late, and it looks like the right time to look for a new number one.

Meanwhile, Chelsea and Manchester United are looking for an upgrade in the goalkeeping position. They already have quality shot-stoppers in their ranks but want to increase competition for a spot in between the stick.

However, Brentford have made it clear that they will only sell the 27-year-old if they receive a great deal. Thomas Frank recently said that he values the Spain international at around £40 million. As a result, it will be interesting to see if Raya gets his dream move or stay at the club for another season.
