Antonio Conte wants to get rid of Hugo Lloris at the earliest and could push Tottenham to sign a new No.1 this month.

According to Fichajes, Hugo Lloris has fallen out of favour with Antonio Conte, who reportedly wants him out of the club. The Italian manager could push the club to accelerate their search for a new No.1 this month and bring someone to displace the former French international.

It has been a terrible few weeks for Hugo Lloris. He was captain of the French team that lost to Argentina in the World Cup Final, then subjected to intense scrutiny after a few disastrous performances for Tottenham. He has made at least two high-profile errors in recent Premier League games against Aston Villa and Arsenal leading to goals.

Spurs lost both those games, and he again came under the scanner for his role in Manchester City’s third goal scored by Riyad Mahrez. In the midweek clash, Tottenham led Pep Guardiola’s side by two goals at half-time but conceded four times in the second period to complete a total capitulation.

Much of the blame for Tottenham’s performances since the restart got pinned on Lloris’ shoulders. The time may be up for the veteran goalkeeper in north London. Antonio Conte is tired of these displays and reportedly wants the experienced Tottenham star out of the club.

He could use the recent performances as a reason for the club to accelerate their efforts in bringing a new No.1. Spurs remain linked with many names, including Jordan Pickford, Robert Sanchez and David Raya from fellow Premier League sides.

Pickford has been on their radar for a few months now and looking at the situation at Everton, a fresh opportunity might spring up. It could prove the right time for Tottenham to make changes in a vital department of their squad, as Conte needs to trust deputy Fraser Forster fully.

There are also links to David Raya of Brentford, but other clubs like Manchester United and Chelsea keep tabs on the Spaniard. Similarly, Brighton’s Sanchez is a target, but the chances of signing the duo mentioned above this month are slim.

Yet, Conte is desperate to find an alternative to the experienced Tottenham star in goal and urges the club to bring in other options. Lloris only signed a new contract last January, which now lasts until the summer of 2024.

Finding a top-quality goalkeeper to replace Lloris would take a lot of work for Spurs chiefs. Conte may have to bide his time to get a new custodian, which may only happen in the summer. By then, the Italian’s own future could see a resolution as there are uncertainties about his stay beyond the current campaign.

What a disaster Spurs have become. A lot of this is down to Levy who, even in desperate times, won’t pay up. He should sell all his shares and get out.
