Manchester City, Manchester United and Tottenham Hotspur are all set to battle it out for the signature of Alessandro Bastoni.
According to a report by Fichajes, Manchester City, Manchester United and Tottenham Hotspur are keen on acquiring the services of Alessandro Bastoni. The 23-year-old has been doing wonders for Inter Milan in the Italian top flight. And, his performances haven’t gone unnoticed.
The Italian centre-back came up through the ranks at Atalanta. His performances caught the eye of the Italian giants Inter Milan who then brought him to the club in the summer of 2017. Bastoni was sent out on loan to gain first-team experience.
The 23-year-old returned to his parent club in the summer of 2019. Since then he has gone from strength to strength. The Italian international has become an integral part of the Milan-based club over the past few seasons.
He has made over 140 appearances for the team in blue and black. The 23-year-old has featured in 28 matches this season. He is amongst the best defenders in the Italian top flight. And, the interest in his services is understandable.
Bastoni’s current contract with Inter Milan ends in the summer of 2024. As of now, there are no talks of an extension. Milan will have to sell in the upcoming summer if they want to cash in on their best defender.
Meanwhile, Premier League clubs are all set to push for his signatures. Manchester United who have been doing great in the ongoing season are also interested in the 23-year-old defender. They are looking to add more quality to their ranks. With skipper Harry Maguire likely to leave in the summer, they might go all out for Bastoni.
Pep Guardiola’s Manchester City are also keen on having the Italian international at their club. While City are desperate to sign a new full-back, they could even push for a centre-back in the summer. They have been keeping an eye on Bastoni and might make a move in the summer.
Antonio Conte who has worked with Bastoni during his time at Inter Milan is also keen on having the player at his disposal. Conte wants to add more stability to his defence and is fully aware of what the Italian centre-back is capable of. The 23-year-old’s arrival will solve major issues in the Spurs backline as a result, they are willing to go big to land the Inter Milan defender.
