Chelsea are in pole position to sign 15-year-old Birmingham City prospect Trevan Sanusi in the summer ahead of Arsenal.

Football Insider reckons Chelsea are ahead of Arsenal in the race to sign 15-year-old Trevan Sanusi. The Birmingham City youngster is attracting plenty of interest from those London clubs. He has reportedly refused to sign scholarship terms with the Midlands club.

Trevan Sanusi could become the next big talent out of Birmingham City if his trajectory is well-planned. The 15-year-old has attracted plenty of interest from top Premier League sides. And clubs like Arsenal and Chelsea may not want to ignore another player from the Championship side.

Big English clubs still rue their ill-fated judgement on former Birmingham City star Jude Bellingham. The current Borussia Dortmund midfielder may cost some teams a whooping fee in the next window.

Sanusi is reportedly spoken in the same breath as Bellingham and is already thinking about his big move to one of the London clubs. While he has not explicitly named them, Arsenal and Chelsea are the main battlers for his signature.

Chelsea are reportedly in the pole position to sign the 15-year-old Arsenal target. The costs associated with any move are under wraps. But the Blues or the Gunners may end up shelling out a modest sum. The big decision would be to come to the Emirates or Stamford Bridge for the Birmingham star.

Sanusi is a versatile forward who can operate on either flank. Chelsea are already ramping up their efforts in the transfer market, having spent north of £600 million in the previous two windows. They have also closely watched several young, emerging stars build for the future.

Chelsea signed the former Arsenal starlet Omari Hutchinson last summer, which made headlines. They are also interested in Ethan Nwaneri, one of the brightest prospects of the Gunners’ academy. There is certainly ambition from Boehly to shape the future.

Meanwhile, the Gunners could also ramp up their efforts to sign Sanusi in the coming window. They have an equally appealing case compared to Chelsea. And Arsenal’s recent track record with young stars has been admirable. Hence, the 15-year-old has many choices and big decisions ahead of the new season.
