Manchester United could plot a move for Benjamin Sesko in the summer as Erik ten Hag searches for a new striker.

According to Football Insider, Manchester United are plotting a summer move for Benjamin Sesko. Erik ten Hag remains intent on signing a new frontman. The 19-year-old attacker from RB Salzburg is one of his options alongside Victor Osimhen and Harry Kane.

Manchester United plots an ambitious summer transfer window as Erik ten Hag plans on the next phase of his squad rebuild. After the success in the last two windows since the Dutchman’s arrival, the club has reached another level with their competitiveness.

Despite a difficult start to their season, Manchester United are outsiders in the title race and have already lifted the Carabao Cup. They are also settled in the FA Cup, with many believing more additions could strengthen their foothold in the division.

One of the key requirements for Ten Hag is a central striker. Manchester United signed Wout Weghorst to fill the void left by the departure of Cristiano Ronaldo. The Dutchman is only on a six-month loan deal. The Red Devils are unlikely to sign him permanently.

Incidentally, Wehorst could be reportedly considered an experiment for Ten Hag. he may now look for a more energetic yet similar forward in the next window. As per the reports, Victor Osimhen is their priority target, and Manchester United are willing to pay big to sign the Napoli star.

Meanwhile, they are also keen on Harry Kane, but plenty of complications may hamper any potential move for the Tottenham star. Ten Hag wants to keep his options open, as he also has Tammy Abraham and Benjamin Sesko on his shortlist.

The Red Devils were considering Sesko before signing Weghorst in January. Reports suggested Manchester United staff felt the 19-year-old attacker would fit the side. However, any mid-season move would have involved a massive transfer fee.

The 19-year-old attacker is set to join RB Leipzig in July, and he will sign a contract with them until the summer of 2028. It remains to be seen whether the German outfit are prepared to let him leave even before he has kicked a ball for them. Apparently, RB Leipzig will pay €24 million to sign the player and they are likely to demand a substantial premium if Manchester United come calling.

Sesko offers a focal point, and his prolific numbers will put many clubs on high alert. Manchester United’s presence in the Champions League could let them push forward with priority targets. Sesko could prefer a move if given the option.
