Manchester United will be keeping an eye on RB Salzburg striker Benjamin Sesko as a large part of the club’s recruitment team are an avid admirer of the striker.

According to journalist Dean Jones, Manchester United are monitoring the movement of Red Bull Salzburg’s Benjamin Sesko and will keep their options open in near future.

Erik ten Hag has been given the go-ahead to choose his players and the manager has already incorporated his influence by injecting a lot of fresh faces into the side.

Christian Eriksen, Casemiro, Antony and Lisandro Martinez have been pretty regular on the side while Tyrell Malacia has been pushing Luke Shaw in every match.

The difference has already been felt as United have notched up eight wins so far and are just three points adrift of fourth-placed Tottenham Hotspur who played a match more than the Red Devils.

United have scouted various options as a part of its summer recruitment plan and Sesko’s name has popped up pretty frequently. The 19-year-old is slated to join Salzburg’s sister club RB Leipzig next season as a £55 million deal has already been struck.

But the Premier League giants are not ready to lose hope and will pursue his signing as soon as the current season ends. The presence of a positive goal-poacher ahead will definitely provide an edge to United who have seen a lot of chances getting wasted due to some shoddy conversions.

Cristiano Ronaldo is also on the periphery of his United career and will try again to leave for a Champions League destination. His departure will further free a lot of wages and it could fund a move for the young striker.

Dean Jones insisted United are definitely plotting something big for Sesko.

“It’s definitely worth keeping an eye on. He’s got a lot of supporters within the United recruitment staff, who feel that he’s the right fit for what they’re looking for.

“I think that, ultimately, is what’s probably going to help him stay on the radar.”

United will definitely bring a coveted number nine next summer and it remains to be seen whether it will be Sesko or any other striker.
