Liverpool are keen on signing Adrien Rabiot in the summer as Jurgen Klopp eyes key midfield reinforcements for next season.

According to Fichajes, Adrien Rabiot is a target for Liverpool for the next window. Jurgen Klopp wants the experienced Frenchman to improve his midfield, which may go through a revamp of sorts after a disastrous season so far.

Adrien Rabiot has always maintained the status of a serviceable player, with few moments of brilliance during the vast majority of his career. Having sealed a free transfer to Juventus a few years ago, the Frenchman did not perform well during his three years in Turin, as the club looked to sell him last summer.

Despite being close to joining Manchester United, the 27-year-old World Cup finalist stayed put and has had the best season of his career to date in Turin. A contract extension was something Juventus thought about. But they feel it is all too late as Rabiot seeks a new challenge in the Premier League.

He has no shortage of interest, with plenty of Premier League clubs keen on the Frenchman. Newcastle United are reportedly serious about the midfielder and could make a financially viable offer if necessary. Meanwhile, Arsenal and Tottenham were also credited with an interest in the Juventus man.

Manchester United could reignite their pursuit of Rabiot if the conditions are favourable. However, with Liverpool’s entry into the equation, the options might change for the midfielder ahead of the most important summer of his career.

The 27-year-old World Cup finalist represents a solid option for any team, let alone Liverpool. Rabiot instantly brings strength to the midfield area, with Liverpool by far the team desperately needing some. Jurgen Klopp will also have one eye on his potential availability for a free transfer, letting him re-focus his finances on other areas of the squad.

Liverpool could use the next window to bring a host of midfielders as they remain linked with several notable names. Brighton’s Alexis Mac Allister features on their shortlist alongside Mason Mount and Jude Bellingham. There are challenges in acquiring either of those, and Rabiot might count himself on the coveted boat of sought-after stars.

Meanwhile, attracting such names will take much more than a decent salary and reputation. Nowadays, it is difficult to sign players who also want to continue playing in Europe, especially the Champions League, something Liverpool cannot guarantee as things stand.

Rabiot would improve Klopp’s options in the middle, although there could be complications in pursuing him. He could demand a significant pay rise from his current salary and would want European football. Much will depend on what Klopp presents to the player regarding a project and his role in it, but in any case, it would be a good piece of business.
