A report from Football Insider has claimed that Julian Alvarez is a target for Real Madrid. But the 23-year-old attacker is happy to snub their approach and stay at Manchester City by signing a new contract.
Julian Alvarez has been quite impressive since his move to Manchester City from River Plate. The talented young striker has ten goals to his name across all competitions this season despite not being a regular starter.
He was an important player for his country as they lifted the 2022 FIFA World Cup recently. The 23-year-old scored four goals during the World Cup in Qatar, including an important brace in the semi-final against Croatia. It is no surprise that clubs like Real Madrid are looking to sign him in the near future.
Los Blancos will have to find a quality long-term alternative to Karim Benzema. And they have identified Alvarez as a potential replacement. However the 23-year-old is not keen on leaving Manchester City anytime soon. And the Premier League giants do not need to sell him either.
The striker has a contract with the Premier League club until the summer of 2027. And Manchester City are under no pressure to cash in on the World Cup winner, either. Furthermore, the report adds that the Premier League champions are hoping the tie him down to a new contract with a pay rise.
